The Glen Friedman B’nai Mitzvah Fund Partnership is a collaboration between Jay and Judy Kessler, Friendship Circle and JAA that expands Jewish possibilities for everyone. As a person with developmental disabilities, Glen was replete with the support of his family as he took part in the ceremony to become a Bar Mitzvah at Congregation Beth Jacob. His participation reinforced the pride his family felt; it moved Glen, his friends, and the entire congregation. At the same time, it inspired the Kessler family to establish the Glen Friedman B’nai Mitzvah Fund.

The fund will provide up to $500 for:

  • Arranging and covering the cost of tutoring for an individual with developmental disabilities ages 12 and up
  • Kiddush refreshments after the service
  • Opening doors at participating synagogues, for families who are not affiliated
